A Mission OF Hope,

Joy and Laughter

The Story Behind Project Joy Box

Grief began the journey. Hope gave it purpose.

Losing my mom was not only about losing a parent. It was about watching someone I loved deeply lose hope in life. That loss changed me in ways I could not fully express.

In the midst of struggling with grief, therapy became my refuge. My therapist encouraged me to return to the things that had made me happy as a child. That is how art found its way back into my life—first as a way to cope, then as a way to heal, and now, as a way to give.

Project Joy Box is my mission: to share the very things my mom needed most—hope, joy and laughter.

Each box carries a small piece of that mission.

What Is a Joy Box?

Joy Boxes are thoughtfully curated collections of small handmade creations. They come in different shapes and sizes, and each one is put together with the hope of making its recipient feel remembered, valued and loved.

A Joy Box may include bookmarks, painted MDF pieces, handmade décor, uplifting messages or other little surprises. The contents can vary because every box is created individually. No two boxes are exactly the same.

01

A handmade surprise

Created slowly and thoughtfully, one piece at a time.

02

A reminder of hope

A small message that brighter moments can return.

03

Something to make you smile

Because joy often arrives through the simplest gestures.

Made by Hand, Not by a Machine

I have never taken an art or craft class. I am self-taught, still learning and very much a work in progress.

After a day at the office, creating has become my unwinding ritual—a quiet space where I can slow down, experiment and reconnect with joy.

The pieces may not have a factory-perfect finish. You may notice a brushstroke, an uneven line or a small imperfection. But that is also what makes each creation human and unique. Every piece carries time, care and a little part of my heart.

Perfectly imperfect. Completely heartfelt.

Why Handmade Matters

There is something special about watching a person’s face light up when they receive something handmade. It is not only the object that touches them—it is the thought, time and intention behind it.

That feeling is at the heart of Project Joy Box. These boxes are not about perfection or mass production. They are about connection: one person creating something with care and another person receiving it with a smile.

Unboxing Smiles

Watching joy find its person.

The moment a Joy Box opens, something lovely happens: a pause, a surprise and, very often, a big smile.

This section will feature real videos of people opening their Joy Boxes—genuine moments that capture the joy, warmth and laughter behind this mission.

A little box. A beautiful reaction.
The magic is in the moment it opens.
Joy looks different on every face.
This smile is why project joy box exists.

Giving Back

Project Joy Box is also about extending joy beyond the person receiving the box. After taking care of material costs, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Joy Boxes will be contributed to charity.

In this way, every Joy Box has the potential to create more than one smile.

One box. More than one smile.

About the Founder

Rashi Bhargava

I am Rashi Bhargava—a financial-services professional by day and a self-taught maker after office hours.

My creative journey began during therapy after the loss of my mother. Returning to the simple things I loved as a child helped me cope with grief and rediscover joy. What began as a personal unwinding ritual slowly grew into Project Joy Box—a mission to spread hope, joy and laughter through handmade creations.

I am still learning. My work is not factory-perfect, nor do I want it to be. Each piece is made by hand, with patience, feeling and the hope that it will make someone smile.

Joy can arrive in small ways.

Project Joy Box is taking its first steps. More creations, stories and ways to share joy are coming soon.

May every Joy Box serve as a gentle reminder that hope can be rediscovered, laughter can return and even a small handmade gesture can brighten someone's day.
